Citrine is a high-end skincare line aimed at women ages 20–40. Citrine is preparing to launch a new line of products online as well as adding a new store location in Seattle. We created branding and packaging for the line, designed a lookbook, and art directed a photoshoot.
We wanted to learn technical aspects of packaging production so we challenged ourselves to make custom dielines and create physical mock ups of the products for a photoshoot and lookbook. We wanted the packaging to be clean and fresh but not clinical. We needed the branding and packaging to be adaptable for the multiple sizes of products while fulfilling all packaging requirements.
The packaging needed to stand out among competitors with a fresh look that is appropriate for the high price point and appealing to customers. We kept the outside of the packaging black and white, with some hand-done illustrations to add personality. For the inside of the boxes, we used a color system that refers to the product colors, reinforcing the individual products and adding an element of delight when opening the product.
Julia and I collaborated on all aspects of this project: branding, dielines, packaging, printed collateral and photoshoot art direction.
